A 1-month-old infant who was in a car stolen in East St. Louis shortly after noon today was found unhurt about 4:30 this afternoon.
Police say the child's mother went inside Moore's Auto and Muffler Repair at 37th and State streets for a few minutes. When she walked back outside, she told police she saw a man getting into her 2004 maroon Mitsubishi Galant.
The child was found at 29th and Louisiana, not far from where the car was stolen. Police took the infant to the East St. Louis police station, where members of the baby's family were waiting.
