Womack went 2 for 3 and Hunter had 3 RBI. Izzy got touched for a run in an innings work. Creek looks to have gotten knocked around a bit. Let's get the real games started.

Womack is the best leadoff hitter have.
File that under "Sad, But True."
.261 avg, 10 HR, 63 RBI, .311 OBP, .688 OPS.
So Tony Womack doesn't have to be the second coming of Rickey Henderson. He just has to be as good as that. Or, to put it differently, Womack/Luna/Whoever We Trade For has to be as good as that.

I'd prefer better.
While I think our pitching has improved, I think there is going to be a dropoff in this offense. I know most disagree with that, but I look for it to happen.
I hope I'm wrong. When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

You're right.
Defense will be worse - perhaps surprisingly worse.
Offense will slip - still no OBP @the top of the order.
Bullpen is somewhat better, but they'll likely have fewer leads to blow with the current health of the rotation. And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.
