  • Interesting USA today MLB salary info

havent seen any data yet on the 2004 team by team payrolls, but did find this chart showing how much guaranteed money each team has tied up for the future...

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/sa...alary-chart.htm

Cards have the third-highest amount of guaranteed money tied up in their players from 2005-2010, behind the Yanks and Phillies, and it doesnt include any deferments...
“I’ve always stated, ‘I’m a Missouri Tiger,’” Anderson said March 13 after Arkansas fired John Pelphrey, adding, “I’m excited about what’s taking place here.”

Asked then if he would talk to his players about the situation, he said, “They know me, and that’s where the trust comes in.

Anyone read the USA Today this morning? It had the NL Central preview. Picked the Cards 3rd. It also had a list of payrolls and they had the Cards third there as well with a payroll of $71 mil. Had the Cubs first at about $84 if I recall, Astros 2nd in payroll, I don't recall the amount. This must not include deferred payments. That's 13 mil in deferred money, good lord. I like Walt, but gosh.
