I have a boat that has a sony cd player with four 6" sony speakers. I have a 10" subwoofer and an amp that I'm going to build a box for and put that in the boat.
I'm also replacing the receiver with an mp3.
Here's my question, will I need a receiver that has RCA outputs for a sub (more expensive), or will any receiver with RCA outputs work with the sub? I used to be into this stuff years ago and forgot alot of things. Seems like if I didn't get something with some sort of built in crossover I would need an external one to filter out the highs on the sub. Basically, I'm trying to get the cheapest MP3 player that will work for my situation.
I know there has to be someone in here who's up on this stuff. Please give me your ideas if you have any.
