  • Agent: Pace asks to lower offer

PALM BEACH, Fla. - It was part damage control and part counter-offensive, but Orlando Pace's agent, Carl Poston, was working the lobby Tuesday at the NFL owners meeting.

What I found interesting about this article..

Browns werent considering 2 first round picks for Pace..

And no other teams had contacted them...

Seems most NFL GM's feel 2 #1 picks is too steep a price for Orlando...

Also...Poston takes a crack at Rams management every time he can..what an asshole

I don't think the Postons' are as nuts as they're made out to be. In fact, I think they're brilliant agents and are probably taking the 'fall guy' position for their clients.

Just my read. It sounds familiar and very clever.

I'll bet it's the fact that teams have to deal with Poston that scares them away from OP more than those 2 #1s.

If he had a regular agent, he might have been signed to an offer sheet by another club by now.

The Postons are not looking our for Pace, in my view.

So long as they maintain their current stance, he will never receive that huge, guarenteed money known as a signing bonus.
