  • Missourians: What's up with your State Quarter?

I've thought about this for a while, but maybe some of you can answer this.

What's the deal with the Missouri quarter? Am I missing something, or is there a huge mistake on this thing?

He's right. There was no Arch in 1804. It wasn't built until 1824.

            Urban legend.

The Arch wasn't built in 1824. It wasn't built at all. It grew out of the ground.
            I'm always right.

What an idiot. The ground grew around the Arch.

Not sure what you mean, Triggy. Missouri was admitted to the Union in Aug. 1821. It commemorates the Arch, Lewis & Clark, and the Mississippi, although Kansas City might wonder where it is on there.

Obviously not geographically correct, but it would be impossible to do all of those and maintain geographic sense.

                So what's your point, T-gitty?

Everybody knows that the Arch spans the Mississippi River, which runs north-south. The explorers would have been traveling west.

                  Get a globe, people!
