Who would have thought? Certainly talent wise SIU was the least - but still managed to make the tourney and be competitive. Illinis did better than any other Big Ten school and KU is still playing. Not to say that NC season was bust - but in comparison to what the others did it has to be least accomplished. What does everybody else think.

Being a Salukis fan, I'm going to be very interested in seeing how Matt Painter handles the recruitment and development of his own players.

I think UNC is a winner - look at their record last year and this year. Big difference and these kids are not Roy's kids.

Wait till he recruits his people in. The current players are nothing special save for one.

But so far the biggest winners has to be Illinois and Kansas.

At least all of them are happy with their coaches unlike Mizzou.

Next year, the first crop of his, is supposed to be badass, highlighted by Marvin Williams Jr. This team has no depth, but Roy maximized the talent that he was given. He will turn this team into a force. Just wait. He was quoted saying that this was the most difficult year of his life. That's because it's really tough to be forced into relationships with players with whom you've had no prior contact. Now I'm not saying that everyone wasn't hoping for a more successful season. But that's the players, and not Roy. We are MUCH better off having him here than not. And I know you said short-term, but we've even had some success there.
