Damn...now I feel old again...grew up listening to them (and singing the falsetto parts to piss off my dad, who sang in nightclubs)...GREAT songs, even if they were "ripping off" the Beach Boys...

I was selective then only listening to R&B. One of the best decisions in my puberty years that I made. I still, at 56, think I'm the only guy who NEVER bought a Beetle record either.
I'm rather proud of that :-)
The REAL Beach Boys? I did own, and still love to listen to, In My Room.

BTW, "Sidewalk Surfin" was a re-write (rip-off) of "Catch A Wave".
I spent a summer in SoCal (Ramona) about the same time you were getting a letter from your friends and neighbors(I'm 46); listened to a LOT of Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Stones, and such there...
Good times...

Lode,
I'm no Beatle guy either.
I could go my whole life w/o hearing another note from them. And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

I remember when he wrecked that corvette. He was lucky to be alive. I had an album by them when I was in high school, one of the songs was "You've come a long way from St. Louis". RIP Jan :(I agree with Davhaf.....Kaiser March 9,2004

Mick Jagger is in better shape than far too many NBA players. It's up in the air whether the same can be said of Keith Richards.
