Watching the debate over Richard Clarke's book and some of the Congressional testimony today, it seems pretty clear to me that both political parties care a whole lot more about who gets elected in November than whether this country is safe from terrorists.

I'm surprised Madeleine Half-bright can still sit down following the treatment by Bob Kerrey.

              My God.
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

you're so witty with the cute names. I wonder how half-bright would match up to the socratic wonder that is John Damtoft?

                  Colin Powell for President!

"Most of us still thought that the principal threat was outside the country," Powell told the commission meeting in a hearing room at the U.S. Congress. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was to appear later in the day.

Polititians need to be held personally responsible for their fuckups. I'm against bigger govt, but I'd love to see a real watchdog group that busts these fuckers and sends them to courts for a trial.
