  • PDA Question

    I'm considering getting a PDA.

Here is the one I am looking at.

I like it because it has a built in digital camera and MP3 support. While I don't *have* to have either of them, they would be cool features.

Office Depot has a deal this week that throws in a 64mb memory card for free. Total cost ends up at 200$ after rebates.

Here is my question for those of you that have these gadgets.

First, will it completely sync with Microsoft Outlook? I don't want to have to enter info twice, and I'm familiar with Outlook. What I want is to be able to input stuff into Outlook, then send it to the PDA and vice versa. Is this even possible? Does the Zire 71 do it?

Secondly, and very important, will I be able to check my email with this thing? Again, with Outlook, will I be able to check my email? For example, would I be able to use this thing to check my "personal" email while at work?

    Is that even possible?

Finally, does this seem like a nice PDA? Thanks, guys.

I think you have to have a Windows based PDA (pocket pc) to sync with Outlook.

It does look like a great PDA though.

Yes, it synchs with Outlook if you have the Window ver but only for Contacts, Schedule & your Task List to my knowledge.

I have not tried to use it to read e-mail with mine which is a Sony but it does have an icon. Maybe I'll try it.

              Pardon my triple post, but....

This PDA comes with This Software.

Read the fine print under 'Key Specs'

I might pick this up, too.

So w/ the Versamail program, which comes with the Palm I posted, I would be able to check email?

It appears that you can (although I'm not very familiar with the software). If it doesn't, just buy snappermail.

P.S. Who is that in your avatar?

That seems awesome. Sounds better all the time.

Think you might get the Zire?

Oh, and its the lovely Monica Bellucci.

Your avatar sucks compared to mine

And yes, I might buy this one, but I would like to get a good Windows based PDA before a Palm.

I had a HP jornada previously and just bought a new ipaq.

The HP is an awesome PDA. I bought one of the top of the lines but all of them will sync with outlook, including calendars, contacts etc.

Mine is also wireless net and contains a number of windows programs such as excel.

Suggest you check them out before you buy.

Office depot has one of the more complete on hand selections of PDA's that I have seen. Lets you touch and play with the handhelds you are considering.
