  • Need Tips on Getting Back in Golf "Shape"

I used to play golf quite a bit, but the last couple of years things have been so hectic for me that I rarely get to play.

I have a "charity" tournament that I have to play in in early April.

Its a great chance for "networking" and provides opporunities for advancement and upward mobility.

    I can't embarass myself.

I need to improve quite a bit in the next three weeks.

    I need some tips.

Keep in mind, I used to play quite a bit, so I just need to get back in "shape."

    Thanks for the help.

Play every day between now and then.
Asked what he would do differently in Iraq, Kerry said, "Right now, what I would do differently is, I mean, look, I'm not the president, and I didn't create this mess so I don't want to acknowledge a mistake that I haven't made."

      Work on flexibility. Stretch.

If its a scramble, practice your putting. Scramble teams always need that. Nobody practices putting, ever.

And if you are overweight, just cut your swing down to start, say 3/4 swing. Then you won't blow out your back.

      JMHO.

Drink a lot of beer and eat a sh*tload of doughnuts.

stretch and hit a bunch of balls.

Go hit a bucket of balls everyday, and play at least once every weekend. You'll get the hang of it soon enough.

Really? I got to find a job that provides that while playing golf....hell I would rather do it while bowling!

Go somewhere like Tower Tee and hit a few everyday I guess. Go to some putt-putts and work on some fancy putting

Worked for him. Make sure you get married and divorced 3 or 4 times too. Oh, and drive everywhere in a $100k RV.

I knew someone was going to beat me to this one. :P

I'd also advise taking up carton-a-day chain smoking.

Oh, and try to gamble quite a bit between now and then.

Winston: get a couple of tennis balls and squeeze them, to help with your hand/wrist/forearm strength; make sure to stretch your leg and back muscles before trying to swing; go to the driving range and hit some mid to short irons (5-9) to get your swing timing back (most folks hit drivers, which doesn't help much with the total game).

                        I have a different approach.

Step One: Get Nike to endorse you for a gazillion dollars.
Step Two: Marry a hot chick from Norway.

Ooops, skipped a step. Hit a million balls at the range by the time you are 18. Yep, with that you are in.

                        And a mullet wouldn't hurt.

Tiger has a mullet? How'd he get that Swedish babe?

Guess it's true that chicks dig the long ball.

If I had a Nordic gal like her, I wouldn't be worried about this anyway.

                            Thanks for the advice, guys.

                            I'm going to hit later.
