  • Tino.....

Martinez never really fit in with the Cardinals the last two years. He said he was ecstatic to be able to come home and play a vital leadership role for the Rays.

"I'm definitely more comfortable on this team,'' Martinez said. "I'm getting to know the guys pretty well. Getting to see how they play the game and I'm very impressed so far. They play hard. Some guys don't push it all the time in spring but these guys really play hard.''

Martinez also played for Piniella in Seattle from 1993-95. He said the skipper he got to know then is still driven to win as much as anyone in baseball.

"Lou is pretty much the same,'' Martinez said. "He's very intense. He doesn't have to say anything. You can tell just by the way he looks at you. He's his same old fiery self. He's a motivator. That's what we want here.''

It's also pretty clear that Martinez is just what the Rays want, too.

"He's a winner,'' general manager Chuck LaMar said. "He's won everywhere he's gone. We still think he has a year or two left. He's the consummate professional. Everything about Tino Martinez is class. We're glad to have him.

Mick Jagger is in better shape than far too many NBA players. It's up in the air whether the same can be said of Keith Richards.

    Tino SUCKS
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

I'm glad they like him...they certainly got that cock-hole dirt cheap...
. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

If Lou Pinella ever needed to be cast in a movie, don't you think Brian Dennehy would be perfect? they both walk the same and everything, like they're constipated or something.

            You and I both.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."
