  • I am an incompletion-calculator on keyboard?

Yeah--I see it. The numlock light comes on automatically. I have no idea how to get numbers that I enter to appear on the monitor. I looked it up in a completely useless book called "Complete idiot's guide to computers". On page thirty, it explains: "Press the numlocks key to enter numbers". Let me explain my problem so that computer experts can comprehend it. I have a device, similar to a tv, referred to as a monitor, which is connected to my computer. I have eyes, two of them, which include, pupils, irises, and they often blink. I use them to read, and I keep them open when I drive. My goal is to enter numbers on the calculator and have them appear on the monitor,(similar to a tv) so I can view them with my eyes.(I have two) Suggestions?

Wow. I sounded rude. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the calculator on the right side of the computer keyboard. It does not do me any good to have the numlocks light on if I cannot get what I want to add, subtract, multiply or divide to show up on the screen. It has to be so unbelievably simple, that they would not even include a complete explanation in the complete idiot's guide. They must have figured they can deal with idiots, or, could it be, nah, is it possible that no one else knows either?

No problem. I feel for you. I am fairly new at this computer thing myself. Good luck.

              Unbelievable.

Seriously, if you look at kjoe's body of work on this forum and the former, you could only conclude he's a troll.

I don't think he is, but I'm beginning to wonder.

                You disagree?

Wow. Sorry I didn't pick up on this sooner, Winston.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of "Damn, what an idiot," but yea, "Dear god," indeed.
