Indecipherable song lyrics

What is it about rock where, for almost half a century now, very few of us can remember the ACCURATE lyrics to most of these songs? After previously making a post that referred to Louie Louie..........I'm still stuck with the confusion of it after all these many years.

Evidently, our parents at that time were confused too and made a fuss about it. So, I went onto an old FBI site tonight to see what some of the anal complaints about the lyrics were. Here's the first one in Elliot Ness' file of interpretations:

There actually is a term for these misheard lyrics. They're called mondegreens.

We had a discussion about these several months ago (on a forum far, far away).

A couple of my favorites are from Elton John and are probably due to first hearing these in the car on AM radio.

Bennie and the Jets
"She's got electric boobs, a mohair suit" (should be electric boots)

Island Girl
I thought he was singing "I like girls." You know, this is about the time it became public knowledge he was gay and I figured it was his attempt to deny it.

Has anyone ever actually figured out what the Beatles are saying at the end of "I am the Walrus"? Is it "CORNFLAKE, CORNFLAKE, SITTING ON A CORNFLAKE"? "TAKE DRUGS, TAKE DRUGS, EVERYBODY TAKE DRUGS"?

"Tumbling Dice" by the Stones has indecipherable lyrics but you can sort of make them out if you're reading along with a lyrics sheet.
