  • Trivia question

Friend of mine asked me a great question that I don't know the answer to, but figure one of you geeks will. And I say geeks in the most complimentary way.

What is the lowest seeded team to ever win the NCAA tournament? In other words, has a No. 10 or 11 ever won?

Pretty sure it was N.C. State when Jimmy V won it....

If we can figure out what they were seeded...we can get the answer....

Then again...I know fuck-all about college hoops

I thought it might be Villanova, the year they beat Georgetown.

Villanova was a No. 8 seed when it won in 1985...that's the lowest seed to win.

It was in fact Villanova, as an 8 in 1985. That was the first year the field was 64 (or 65) teams.

                      Kansas in 1988 and N.C. State in 1983 won as a 6.

                          I think it was Villanova.

                          They were an 8 seed.

                          That's just a guess.

                            That's a piss-poor excuse.

You needed to proofread because you don't have a haavud education.
