    United to play Celtic, Bayern and Milan



    NEW YORK -- Manchester United will be joined on its preseason tour of the United States by six other European clubs, organizers said on Thursday.

    English Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, Scottish Premier League Celtic, Italian Serie A clubs AC Milan and AS Roma and German giants Bayern Munich make up the ChampionsWorld series.

    United, who four months ago committed to return to the U.S. following a successful tour last July and August, will play three matches in North America this July.

    The club meets Bayern in Chicago on July 25, Celtic in Philadelphia on July 28 and current European Cup holders Milan at Giants Stadium, New Jersey, on July 31.

    Chelsea plays three matches in total, against Celtic in Seattle, Roma in Pittsburgh and Milan in Philadelphia.

    Liverpool will meet Celtic in East Hartford, Connecticut, while Roma also faces Liverpool at Giants stadium and Celtic in Toronto, Canada.

    Seven venues will be used in all, with capacities ranging from 40,000 at Rentschler Field, East Hartford to 80,242 at Giants Stadium.

    Monday, August 2

      Great matches...

      Celtic and ManU. would be good...

      but 007 is right...Bayern ManU. will be the match...folllowed by Chelsea Man.U.

      Oliver Khan is a stud...he'll be lloking for revenge...I'd love to see those matches.

        I'm all over the Bayern - ManU game..although I'd like to see AC Milan as well.

              Too bad none of these are coming to St. Louis.

              I'm not as big a soccer fan as I used to be, but I know this city is a soccer hotbed, so it would've been neat to this here.

                Born and bred in a soccer family...my grandfather and great uncle are in the STL Soccer Hall of Fame...my great uncle was the longest tenured President of the organization, too....

                I was pretty good up till 7th grade....too bad I got slow...

                  I will be going to at least one of the Celtic matches this summer. I have to decide though because celtic have a convention in LV during the same time.

                      I'll probably go to the Bayern/Man U. game if I can scrounge up tickets. Like WEG, I would have rather seen Real Madrid or Arsenal, though.
