I saw the kick, but thought nothing of it other than it was obvious...

For those who don't wanna jump through hoops and read the article...

          Pronger suspended

Chris Pronger will miss Tuesday's tilt against the Kings.

Sportsnet.ca - St. Louis Blues defenceman Chris Pronger has been suspended one game for kicking, Sportsnet has learned.

The 6-foot-6 blueliner kicked Calgary's Ville Nieminen during the first period of Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Flames. Nieminen's ankle was actually cut but it went right under the radar. Calgary's coaching staff wasn't even aware of the incident until later.

The suspension will take effect immediately, which means the 29-year-old will miss Tuesday night's game in Los Angeles.

He can appeal...that would allow him to play tonight.

He could then drop his appeal and serve the one game tomorrow vs the Ducks.

I presume he'd still get an appeal (unless he already had one this afternoon before it was announced)

Entirely possible, but it would make sense to me they would add a qualifier in the article either way...

Don't they always get an appeal.

I'm too lazy to look, but I don't recall ever seeing the qualifier in an NHL suspension announcement.
