like all good soldiers, he marches on, but he's not likely to serve a second term...he has had his ass handed to him by the neocon cabal at every turn and has humiliated himself time and again parroting the administration line with which he clearly has (at minimum) serious reservations...here's a very good slate.com article on "The Tragedy of Colin Powell" for anyone interested...

I guess slate knows better than Powell himself.

lazy, the fierce infighting has been widely reported for a long time in a wide variety of media outlets...Powell was on the record prefering diplomacy and consensus to the course eventually taken...that said, do you think, at this stage, Powell is going to turn tail on his commander???

              Daze,

Slate's just another of those "objective baseliners".
And, frankly, it has never occured to me that "winning" a debate is important, or that I should be hurt when someone like Airshark or kah, among others (for whom winning a pseudo debate or declaring intellectual superiority over invisible others is obviously very important) ridicule me.

Google "Powell Bush administration infighting" and take your pick.

At this point, I should know better than to expect you to engage on substance. Much easier to shoot the messenger, even if it betrays your weakness.

I like him immensely. Book it that there's a new Secy of State if Bush wins.

No doubt there has been some serious infighting between the State Dept and the Pentagon. I think there is a 50-50 chance that Powell won't be back if there is a second term.

                  Thanks
