        I don't think they were necessarily preseason top five but a couple years ago, Alabama became the first team in history to ranked No. 1 at any point in the season and fail to make the tournament.

          Are you sure? I think the Tide did make the tournament that year. They were 17-12 or something, but I believe they made it in.
