Who is going to the parade?

So who is going? Are you taking the family and kids?

      Sch,

This 45 yeard old body is burnt out on that kind of frivolity. Afterall, after attending the real deal in New Orleans, in 83 and 84, nothing else matters, with the exception of Brazil's Carnival.

        You'll be fine -

I think we should talk to drunk steve about creating a Sport Lounge press pass so people will know that you are cool and that you are there on "official business".

Will that pass put me to the front of every bathroom line?

If so, those passes NEED to happen.

I am scared of those bathrooms and boy do I hate standing in line. My one buddy has never been able to go to MG because he works too much. This year he's off and wants to go down there.

                Right now it's 38......

                High today 46...........

I won't go back down......Like I said when the better half had an apartment there we would just hang out and join the revelry all weekend............One year it was 60 and the crowd for the parade was estimated between 400,000 and 500,000.....

Since they keep trying to make it "family friendly".......I refuse to go............It's just not as fun...........

Mardi Gras and Family Friendly are two roads that should never intersect. If you want to bring the kids, take them to the dog parade.

I've got to teach 10 wonderful (read: sucky) students this afternoon, so I'll have to miss the parade. However, I will be down in that area later tonight (bottle of wild turkey in hand) when the real fun begins....

Those press passes are a good idea.

CG -- you could get to the front of the line if you flashed (the press pass) and told everyone that you were doing a story on bathroom cleanliness....

I agree. While I don't condone underage drinking (although I did when I was underage), they have taken a lot of fun out of it. It was a really good time before the whole war zone tear gas incident a few years ago.

So how do we go about getting press credentials are should we just make one up.

Also pgrote and gonzo we are going to need some major help in deciding who covers what.
