  • Winky vs. Sugar

    Guys,

My phone is out -- again -- because it's raining down here, so I probably won't be on after the fight to compare scorecards.

I can only get on at work, and may come in Sunday to converse, unless by some miracle my stupid phone line gets fixed.

Anyway, enjoy the fight. It should be a good one.

(And I think Joe Mesi gets exposed, tonight, as well).

Interesting there is no boxing fans here. Shane got his ass kicked. Should have learned from the two Forrest fights. That was probably a 20 million dollar loss tonight.

I'm a fight fan but no one was really around so I decided to tape the fights and watch them later.

Undefeated or not, I think so. I gave him every round from 1-8 on my card, and I had him winning the fight. He's also refreshingly honest about his performances.

              Two things:

              1) Despite beating Jirov soundly for eight rounds, Mesi could not put him away; and

              2) Mesi almost got knocked out in the last round against basically a cruiserweight. For some reason, Jirov didn't get off his left early in the fight. Mesi can be hit, and he can't take much of a punch.

I was impressed with him until the 9th, when all the suspect things about his game ame into sharp focus. He has a long way to go before he is ready to challenge the big dogs of the division.

              On Wright-Moseley:

I thought Wright would win coming in, but I was surprised at how one-sided it was, and surprised at how much Moseley looks like a shell of his former self.

Wright dominated him, and I don't see how any thing would change significantly to warrant a rematch. But then again, Moseley didn't look ready to mess with Trinadad, and he wants no part of Hopkins, if he's smart.
