I'll probably get hammered for this. But it seems that "God Bless America", which was originally sung at games as an appropriate gesture of defiance to our enemies after 9/11, has become a permanent part of the 7th inning stretch at ball games.
It slows the game down further and it ices any starter who's staying in for the bottom of the 7th inning (especially the 15-minute Yankee "Director's Cut" remix). How about we go back to the way it was before, when we sang the National Anthem before the game to celebrate America, and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in the 7th inning to celebrate the game?
