Interesting thing about the Basques: their language is related to none other, in the Indo-European family or any else. Nobody's quite sure, from an anthropological standpoint, how a people came to inhabit the Iberian peninsula speaking a wholly unique language.

In the same way the Finnish language is not related to any Scandanavian language or Cyrillic language...but rather, has roots in Huangarian...and Hungarian has no roots in Caucasoid Language families as well...

Actually, in terms of the Basques...I believe the reason that their language is like no other, is that their roots are from the Basque region in Spain (very hilly/mountainous) and can trace their roots back thousands of years...whereas modern Spainards have roots in Latin and the old Roman empire..
