  • Who else has gotton tired of Clairborne/Ramsey?

Since there is not much else sports related to listen to in the afternoon, i hesitantly tune into the "gameface" somedays, and their attempts to ridicule callers is an act that has gotton old in my opinion. I was a first time and only time caller to that show about a year ago. My point was about Vina's attitude coming into spring training, and how we should trade him if his attitude persists and Ramsey totally changed the subject on me (about who would i/wouldnt i trade, which wasnt even what i wanted to talk about) , and ripped what i considered a valid point. Their opinions are too blunt and not listener friendly. Are there any other afternoon sports radio shows that others listen too?

    They're idiots.

They aren't being blunt, they're just stupid.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

How can you get tired of them when you don't listen to them? I gave up on them a couple years ago. I can't believe their still on the air with those shitty attitudes towards listeners. Now there's a couple of ASSCAKES especially "Claibs".

I've noticed that each of them are on by themselves, their demeanor is totally different. They leave their "smartass" attitude in the locker. But, put those two together, it's not good.

Who said i never listen to them, Huegy? I said i listen to them sometimes, and when i listen to them, all they do is demean their callers. It gets old when every time i turn them on, they have to make an attempt of ridicule.

I wasn't saying that to you, I was saying that I never listen to them. Sorry if I messed you up. I was agreeing with you by saying I don't. B)

I re-read your post Huegy and I understand what you meant now. No prob.

I caught the end of their convo with Larry Pleau. If the front end of that resembled anything towards the latter of the interview, then they didn't direct any tough questions towards Pleau for why he completely let this team's fans down. But, those douchebags sure found it enjoyable focusing on the next two callers rather than their points on the blues.

Ramsey should stick to Bills BB. He does that well. When he lets his real personality show, he's a pompous ass (and what's so absurd about that is how utterly common he is, denigrating everyone who has an opinion he deems as useless).... a REAL unlikable fellow.

Then there's Claiborne. I have an affinity for Mike because he's from the old neighborhood and, when he's in the right environment, like KMOX, he excells. His logic, knowledge and intelligence plays well there.

On this little daytime 10 watt gig though...........he drags himself down to the lowest caller(s) denomonator and treats people like (I'm sure) he'd never want to be treated himself.

                      Must be a frustration thing.

I gave this act up several years ago myself because I don't have a masochistic bone in my body.

I have no problem with Claiborne. It's Ramsey I can't stand.

Besides, that show is unbearable because of the constant plugs throughout the show. Just when they're starting to get a conversation started, they veer off into another plug.

                          Game face -

Is at its best when it sticks to local high school drama. These kids didn't get to play because of a messed up situation with the coach or the school administration types of things. The Post - Distrash just doesn't cover that stuff and sometimes a caller will call with some good information. Claiborne is a bright guy - but not always a nice guy - and often neither bright nor nice. I truly enjoyed his fight with the ESPN reporter who put Ricky Williams in the wedding dress. Claiborne was ripping on him for it saying it was too stupid and the reporter got tired of defending himself and hung up. He can also rip a caller up pretty good and that's where he runs into trouble. He often treats the callers as if they are boring him by asking something extremly stupid. After two or three of these calls in a row - you got dead air with him lording his sports knowledge over all in St. Louis.
Ramsey on the other hand plays the glorified Ed McMahon to Claiborne Carson. This is not a two lead team. It is a one lead and a side kick. Ramsey is 99% of the time the nicer of the two to callers and often tries to help the callers along after Claiborne has driven them to the idiot desert. However because it is a one lead show Ramsey rarely challenges Claiborne's opinion so there is little exchange of different ideas - since Claiborne kills them when they get on the air.
I used to call about once every two or three months on the way home from work. Now I got us here and I realise that when I was calling I wasn't being heard much.

I got nothing to add to what DaLode and Schwa said. That sums it up pretty well.

Ramsey should stick to what he knows - Billiken basketball and the Fireman Challenge on ESPN. He's an ass and Claibs acts like he's bored.

Billiken Bob and The Round Mound of Sound.

Rammer is bitter because he didn't get the Cards gig.

RMoS is bitter because he knows when Daddy pulls the plug on his son's playtoy, he's on the street.

KFNS is a joke. Wilson on Fridays is torture to get through. The only reason he does the show is because KFNS carrys his ball teams games.
