When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."
So 2 512MB sticks @ $38 extra per stick.....compared to what?
Please post the info on both options.....also: are you going to be overclocking?

Yeah, specs.... I'm getting way too tired. And no, I don't plan on overclocking.
Corsair:
1GB Corsair XMS DDR SDRAM PC-3200
Specifications
Memory Type DDR SDRAM
Frequency 400MHz
Voltage 2.6 V
Memory Timings 2-3-2-6
ECC (Error Correction) No
Corsair memory is specifically designed for rock-solid performance in the most demanding of applications. Data lines are specifically designed for noise immunity; clock lines are optimized for minimum skew. All modules use impedance-controlled printed circuit boards, with 30 micro-inches of selectively plated gold to ensure a proper interface with the DIMM socket
NonCorsair
1GB DDR SDRAM PC-3200
Specifications
Memory Type DDR SDRAM
Frequency 400MHz
Voltage 2.5 V
ECC (Error Correction) No
Double data rate is a type of SDRAM in which data is sent on both the rising and falling edges of clock cycles in a data burst. It is usually referred to as DDR as opposed to DDR SDRAM. PC-3200 DDR SDRAM operates at an effective rate of 400MHz.
In dual-channel configurations, this memory provides a peak bandwidth of 6.4GB/s.

If you can stomach the difference, I recommend Pro....but you may never see the difference.

Don't worry about spending the extra scratch then, but make sure you get two sticks of RAM vs. one.
