  • Another Computer Question

I can't seem to make certain folders private. I looked under the Windows "help" section and it stated I would need to format my drive to something called "NTFS." Now, before I go any further, is this a good idea? Thanks to all.

I'm not sure what you mean by "private."
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

To assign permissions to a folder, you will have to convert the drive to NTFS. Are you using Win2K/XP? If so, go to help and look up "convert". It will give you the info necessary to convert the drive from FAT32 to NTFS.
If you believe in something sacrifice a hobo to it or don't bother.

Don't format to NTFS unless you know what you are doing, or unless you absolutely need to.

          Glad I could remind you.

EDIT - See, if I knew Gonzo in real life, I would probably think about feeling bad about calling him a moron, but since he’s some anonymous dude I have no remorse.

                    Backup your system.

                    Type:

                    CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS

                    Wait.
