  • Jobs created by US Presidents

Norman Chad, syndicated columnist: “Sports radio, reflecting our sinking culture, spends entire days advising managers and coaches, berating managers and coaches, firing managers and coaches and searching the countryside for better middle relievers. If they just redirected their energy toward, say, crosswalk-signal maintenance, America would be 2 percent more livable.”

"The best argument against democracy," someone (Churchill?) said, "is a five minute conversation with the average voter."

Best campaign ad I have seen yet, that is all the DNC should have to run.

I can't wait to hear the Bush supporters' spin!

I think they'll blame it on Clinton!

I hope they run the hell out of that ad. Make a bumper sticker or a billboard out of it or something.
“I’ve always stated, ‘I’m a Missouri Tiger,’” Anderson said March 13 after Arkansas fired John Pelphrey, adding, “I’m excited about what’s taking place here.”

Asked then if he would talk to his players about the situation, he said, “They know me, and that’s where the trust comes in.

So what is the spin about the job creation under Billy's watch? Looks like he was the best president as far as creating jobs.

Just remember: "Outsourcing is GOOD for the economy!"
. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

Wouldn't the Job Creation chart make a great backdrop during Kerry speaches?

During the Presidential debates--when Bush accuses Kerry of flip-flopping-- Kerry could hold up the chart, saying "Flip-flop this, Mr. Bush"!

For a more accurate graph of job grown for Bush and other presidents, I would suggest bls.gov. For the first couple years of Bush's presidency, it is fairly obvious why there was staggering job loss: due to the bursting of the bubble, all the internet companies and other Fortune 500 companies alike had to lay off the workers that they mistakenly hired and thought they had a need for. It's a simple policy of last in, first out. I can't defend Bush over the last couple years; I agreed with his tax cuts and they were necessary to spur the economy, but that in combination with the excessive spending were the worst combination. If you think raising taxes would have spurred job growth and the economy, well then I recommend you take al ook at an Economics 101 book.

                      That's a very *graphic* graph.

Nice to see the administration's failure that starkly.

Bush is probably one of the worst presidents in our history.

If the American people re-elect this man, we deserve everything that another 4 years of this charade will bring to them.

Can you send that to DICK Cheney?

Just when you thought no one could top Rod Paige calling the teacher's union "a terrorist organization," along comes Veep Cheney with this gem, "If Democratic policies had been pursued over the last two-to-three years, the kind of tax increases both Kerry and Edwards are talking about, we would not have had the kind of job growth that we've had."

Uh, in the first place, Kerry and Edwards are not talking about tax increases at all, but about repealing part of Bush's tax cuts -- so we would have had no tax cuts, not tax increases. And in the second place, if losing 2.3 million jobs is "job growth," Dick Cheney is a laugh riot.

Repealing tax cuts is a tax increase. Who here thinks the economy would be better off with tax increases?
Asked what he would do differently in Iraq, Kerry said, "Right now, what I would do differently is, I mean, look, I'm not the president, and I didn't create this mess so I don't want to acknowledge a mistake that I haven't made."
