And now with what Butler is getting, all I can say is damn. I like the Lions deal w/Bryant looking at all of those.

Winfield is the best corner out of all these guys. He's exactly what the Vikings need.

Not surprising. Cornerback is one of the most valuable positions on the field and there are far fewer good cornerbacks than there are of any other position.

Hullie, good to see you here and I hope you stay awhile. And thanks for not signing Ahmed Plummer!

yeah, Plummer was the hot name here. He spent two days in Detroit and many thought he was a lock to sign. He was getting all the discussion on the Lions boards as everyone was high on him.

Then the Bryant signing came out of no where along with Woody. I'm pretty happy with that. Plummer is one of them damn Buckeyes anyway :P

I thought Plummer would go to Detroit because it's close to home and he and Mariucci really liked each other. All Niners fans thought Plummer was gone because all indications were he wanted to be closer to home (he lives in Columbus).

Once they leave Ohio State, I no longer hate them...at least as long as they're helping my team. Plus, I think Plummer was only 1-3 against Michigan!

Damn Dev, who would have thought that you'd have said that! I thought you were an offensive guy.

Updating previous reports, Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports the contract CB David Barrett (Cardinals) signed with the New York Jets was a six-year, $21 million deal that included a $4.5 million signing bonus. There is also a $1 million roster bonus due March 1, 2005.

I wonder if the Rams will match on Butler.

Seems like they will have to.

Groce didn't impress that much the other CB they drafted was hurt most of the season and Walton is a S.

That much for a guy that didn't even play at all the 2nd half of 2002.

Barrett's a good player who no one knows about because of where he played. The Jets overpaid for him but they probably had to because he's much better than Jeremetrius Butler is and Butler got $15 million over six.
