  • Has anyone noticed their car radio's FM dial?

A good friend of mine has a 01 chevy Malibu. I own a 02 PT Cruiser. I've noticed on the FM Dial, especially KLOU 103.3, the radio's display will alternate between Oldies-KLOU-103.3, AND the name of the current song they're playing. I don't subscribe to any type of satellite radion service. My friend told me that his car radio started doing the same thing.

    What's up with that?

My mom has a '01 Monte Carlo and her radio does that, too.

I think they're the RDS enabled radios?

      I'm not too sure.

I know some stations are now able to broadcast that, but not all radios pick it up and display it.
When you say to your neighbor, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night if that's alright with you," what you really mean is, "We're having a loud party on Saturday night."

Mine does that also. Don't you love your PT Kev....I wouldn't trade mine for almost anything...except the new convertible PT Cruiser.

          dav,

I LOVE my toy. I just wish that I would have waited for the Turbo V-6 model. The convertible is the BOMB!!!!

If you're radio is equipped with RDS technology, you should be seeing the information on your radios....
