  • GDT: Blues take on the Isle

What will the Blues do today?

More of the same, I suspect....

    I'll say they win.....

I would be going to this game, but there's no point in having my blood pressure go through the roof.

A Blues victory would be disaster in terms of the long-term health of the franchise.

        Save your money....

A win ruins my plans re-building, for sure...

          007,

Now that is a contradiction in terms...

Hope they do win -- for once. Peace.

You guys think the Blues would trade Weinrich back to the Flyers? We only have two NHL-caliber defensemen playing in tonight's game: Johnsson and Timander. The rest will all be AHL call-ups.

I'd trade him anywhere, and PHI would be okay by me...

Don't get me wrong: I like Weinrich, but get a pick back for the rebuild....

What has made his stock rise? The win he helped you get over the Pens?
Of course...it was a huge win: it bought Quenneville another game

Actually, since someone is desperate for a defenseman and if Plough was smart, he's get a 3d rounder back.....but its Plough, so he'll probably get a 6th rounder in return from Philly....

I predict another outstanding goaltending effort by Osgood, and absolutely zilch on offense from the big 3 (which means, no offense)...

These guys just can't buy a goal right now...it's sad, really...

                    Future HOFer Salvador scratched (healthy)...

Some quick notes from the Island as the Blues begin their New York double dip before the trade deadline. Any scratches this time of year are going to look quirky and raise an eyebrow, even those of the players ... so here goes with the notable scratch for tonight's game:

                    - Bryce Salvador.

                    - Blues say it is to get Matt Walker in the lineup and because they want Bryce to step back and take a look at the game. There's more for him to give, the Blues said. But it got people's attention when he's one of the last ones of the ice.

                    - Also out will be Jeff Finley.

                    - Mike Sillinger did arrive ... finally. He will center the third line, flanked by Mark Rycroft and Pascal Rheaume. As chronicled, this moves Petr Cajanek up to the top line and Pavol Demitra over to the wing. Mellanby joins Drake on Weight's line. Cajanek will be told to go ahead and be offensive. Or as it was put this morning: Play the game for that line.

                    - Osgood in net, against his former teammates.

                    - Word is LA has the best offer for Rucinsky. Dallas and Vancouver are in the mix, and the Blues are -- and get use to this one -- talking to them but may not be able to match the offers of the others.

                    - Osgood may got to tomorrow, too, depending on the type of game tonight, his workload and how well he plays.

                    - So here's a poll question:

WHICH ST. LOUIS WILL FINISH WITH MORE POINTS?

                    St. Louis Blues

                    --or--

                    Martin St. Louis

                    - Vote now.

                    - Currently, it's Blues 69, Martin 78.

                    - Anybody bothering to keep track of the rumor-to-report ratio for this trade season. Like how much is rumored to be about to happen and how much actually has happened? That's almost as fun as the trade's themselves.

More if I think of it.

                    From Uniondale,

I gave up on the Blues already. As far as I'm concerned, I'm more excited about the College Basketball games tonight than the Blues.

Championship week has started, and we have Duke/North Carolina tonight, among others - good stuff.
