  • Loathsome Turds Update

Well, those of us in the simulation league are posting in the pinned thread, but since I like to keep everyone current (especially given the level of general interest), I thought I'd let everyone in on what's going on with our favorite baseball team.

Team now stands at 4-3. Thumped Devaskar 2 of 3 at home. Split with Winston on the road. 19 more games on the road swing (what a screw job from the Commissioner's office), starting with Ohio Blues' club, which is undefeated. But not for long.

Payroll remains near the bottom of the league. Gonzo also has a low payroll, but his team stinks. Unlike mine. WEG has a high payroll, and his team is underperforming. Overall, my team is the surprise of the league. To everyone but me, that is.

Alan Youngblood replica jerseys on sale now.

    Very impressive Kaiser...

Any word on how my low budget St. Louis Browns are faring? (sorry, I named them before I realized that the team names for this league were going to be slightly unconventional and don't know how to change my team's name).

I think my games were supposed to start yesterday, but can't seem to get into the site.

Of course, that's not a major problem, since I'm very much of a "hand's off" "let the players play" kind of manager, just like TLR, so hopefully my team is doing OK, even though I'm not there to pull all the strings fo rthem.

Stan, your team started out something like 5-2. Not bad, but not as good as my team.

You ain't seen low budget until you've seen the LTs. We don't even wash the uniforms. If you're gonna play like a Turd, you're gonna smell like a Turd. Catchy, right?

I've been more the Larry Bowa type so far. Player rebellion expected about 1/2 way through, followed by collapse in the pennant race.

          Why is he batting 9th?

He prefers to bat 9th. A lot of people are on me to move him up in the lineup, but he just loves to drive in runs. Oh, he'd be a good hitter anywhere you put him, but that's where he's staying. Besides, where else would he hit?

I wish you had gotten in this league. You really don't know much about baseball.

So your best guy often only bats 3 times?

or he bats 4 times while everyone else bats 5?

Shit, he may not get enough AB's for the batting title.

You really are holding him back, not to mention your fan base.

Fan base? Who cares what the fans think? I mean, they're just there to fill my pockets with cash and pay for my new stadium and then I'll sell the team.....

Um, I mean, they're the best fans in baseball. Really smart.

what color is the sky in Kaiserville?

. . . and to tell you this: I work with gays, have friends who are gay, go to church with gays. Most of them are aware that I believe that homosexual behavior is sin. Some of them actually agree. Most don't. It's OK . . . because they also know or at least have been made aware of my multitude of sins: adulterous heart, lustful and covetous behavior, wicked pride, angry spirit . . . do I need to go on?

If nothing else, a bunch of turds on a field is a display of intestinal fortitude.

What a suggestion my team is on course to win 106-107 games this year before the playoffs. There ain't no underperforming here.
