    Emil Brown

    Age: 29
    Height: 6-2
    Weight: 200 lbs.
    Bats: Right
    Throws: Right
    Pos: CF

Born: December 29, 1974, Chicago , IL, United States
    College: Indian River (FL) CC
    Experience: 5 years

It's Friday and last night I received a tip that Emil Brown is not only going to make the team, but he will also be worthy of our attention and awe. Apparently last Friday, the Cardinals got this 29 year old surprise to be.

According to my source, "Talk about him having great work ethics, a big throwing arm, great break/read on the ball and runs down balls in the alleys.

Tell people to get used to seeing him because he will be a starter in LF....then say....four words lead me to believe it....ray lankford and kerry robinson."

Remember, last year at this time, most of us had never heard of Bohart and so I think it's worth taking a look at Mr. Brown.

Here is a link to his baseball reference page: Emil Brown

If anyone has any other info on this guy, I would love to hear it.

Let's celebrate Emil! Whoever he is!

How can anyone say he willmake the team after they've played ONE maybe TWO spring training games?

I think part of the fun of Spring Training is speculating who will or won't make the team.

If he makes it, it would be cool because someone in the Lounge called it before very many people ever knew who he was really.

I'm not rippping you for posting about him :P I'm just wondering what about him so early in spring training makes you or whomever think he's going to make the team. I don't know the guy, never heard of him in fact.

          CG:

Thanks for the link to his numbers.

          I am underwhelmed.

Viva la Emil Quincy Brown. E.Q. Brown.

There are some cool names on this team.
          I'm always right.

            Blue,

I know you weren't ripping me. It's all right. I don't know if he'll make the team or not, but my source is pretty convinced that he will.

I have never seen him play and so when I am in Jupiter, I will be looking for him.

I will let everyone know what I see when I am down there.

Cg, nice of you to show some variety on this board!

Now the only problem is, if he gets cut or sent down, we now have to have a good bye day, where we sulk about him being departed.

Actually that is a pic of superdog Buster in my avatar.

The pic in my signature is of TLR pondering stuff like "should I pull this pitcher and put Fassero in?"

Thanks for making me look foolish.

Why do you turn all these threads into me? If you want to celebrate me, just start a thread about me.

                    Vapors?

Emil sure whacks the ball around.

Cg, when you are there, listen to the ball off his bat.

                    Pretty loud.

Anyway, he will be the right handed hitter stepping in after the PA guy says "Brown".........

So, yes, I will listen to the bat at BP on the practice fields.

If it's louder than Pujolsesess, I will tell you, but to be honest, that really isn't possible.

I will be happy if the crack of the bat is louder than Wilson Delgado's.

It wont be that loud. No one's is.

If Wilson is actually taking BP, we really are lucky to fight for third place.

Surely there are 1,467,329,765,432,560,054 better things to do in FLA than listen to Wilson's bat sound or lack there of

You just might be right about having lots to do in FL.

Next week at this time I will be at the practice fields taking notes so that I can tell you who all was out there and stuff they did.

If you note the angle at which their necks are craned, I believe that Mr. Fassero is currently in the game.
