  • Gay Marriage

I was just wondering about a couple things.

1- Is the reason people are against gay marriage because it's a religious institution, and they just think homosexuality is wrong from a religious standpoint?
2- How do people who are against this think it hurts THEIR marriage?
3- If marriage IS a religious institution, why is the government involved AT ALL?
4- Why if it is a religious function is the government giving benefits and rights to a religious function.
5- If it's not about religion, why would the state give benefits to some people but not others?
6- what if some church, ANY church wanted to marry gay people, how could the government recognize one church over another?

It seems to me if this gets to the supreme court, we are going to have to at a MINIMUM give gay couple every right we give straight couples.

Yeah I know, but I am sure I heard anything really specific from people on the questions I asked tonight?

How does it affect your marriage
How can the government recognize one church and not another.
If it is religion, why is the government involved in ANY way what so ever.
If it's not religion, then it has to be discrimination not to allow them to marry.

I guess if a church doesn't want to marry a man and man, or a woman and woman that is the church's business, and we have no place telling any religion what to do.
But by the same token, what if a church does want to marry them, what then? Don't we have to apply the exact same, it's their business let them do it?

I see NO downside to this to any one except at a religious level, and if it is just that, then the government has no place in it at all.

            I don't know, but I hope he isn't gay.

Mick Jagger is in better shape than far too many NBA players. It's up in the air whether the same can be said of Keith Richards.
