Fassero Opts to Pitch at Coors

assero had offers to pitch for other teams, but Colorado was the only one willing to give him a shot at starting. Coors Field, of course, is the mile-high ballpark where home runs are hit at a record rate - 303 in 1999 alone. "Coors Field is Coors Field," Fassero said. "People say, `How can you pick that place?' I looked at my opportunities at who was, realistically, going to give me the best chance to start, and Colorado was it, so you've got to deal with the field and that's it."

Some situations are just ripe with drama - others are a sure thing. This is the equivalent of placing a bet on the only horse in the race.

Fassero will get lit up like a christmas tree. He is pitching in Colorado because no one else wants too.

They train in my home, Tucson, Az. I wish the Cardinals would move out here.
