Eric Gagne loses arbitration

Considering that Gagne lost, I'm wondering just how much of a chance to win Pujols would have had if they went to arbitration.
I would say that a $2.5 mil increase over the previous record would have have been enough for Albert (that is, using the same reasoning the Gagne aritrators used).

Add in that Soriano signed for a little over $5,000,000 this year, and I think the team's odds of winning were pretty good.
Not that Pujols' isn't worth the $10,500,000 compared to some of the veteran guys out there, but among players with his length of service, he'd have been far ahead of anyone else - and that's apparently what arbitrators look at...
