  • Blues to tab Jared Bednar as Peoria bench boss?

    According to St. Louis Blues play-by-play voice Chris Kerber - via his Twitter account - the organization is expected to name Jared Bednar as the new head coach for the club's top minor-league affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

    After five years as an assistant coach with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, Bednar, 38, was named the club's head coach in 2007-2008, compiling a 89-45-0-9 record over two seasons and won a Kelly Cup, the ECHL's championship, in 2008-2009.

    He was also the Stingrays' general manager during the 2008-2009 season.

    Bednar was an assistant with the Abbotsford Heat of the AHL in 2009-2010.
