    Blues reportedly open contract talks with goalie Chris Mason

    Jeremy Rutherford of STLToday.com is reporting that the St. Louis Blues have opened up contract talks with soon-to-be free agent goaltender Chris Mason.

    The Red Deer, Alta. native sported a 2.53 goals against average and posted a 30-22-8 record during the 2009-2010 NHL season.

    Mason, 34, is due to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after earning $3 million annually since 2008.
