  • Ravens to sign QB Bulger to back up Flacco

The Baltimore Ravens are expected to sign former St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger to a one-year contract next week, the Baltimore Sun is reporting.

Bulger, the two-time NFL Pro Bowler, will be the back-up signal caller to Joe Flacco, whom has yet to miss an NFL game in his two year career. With incentives, ESPN reports that Bulger could make close to $5.3 million.

The move puts the onus on current Ravens quarterbacks Troy Smith and John Beck, who will likely now vie for the third-string job.

Good for Bulger. He'll like the protection that Baltimore OL will provide.
